Smiths Speed Dating This Sunday at the Black Rabbit in Greenpoint
Posted on 9th February 2012

smiths
Hi. It’s Dave again. From before. Anyway, as part of my ongoing quest to make the world a better, sexier place, I am hosting my groundbreaking Smiths speed dating event that I like to call “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now” this Sunday at the Black Rabbit in Greenpoint, the popular Brooklyn neighborhood, at 8pm. Here’s how it works: I play Smiths and Morrissey songs on my laptop while I get hammered and people speed date for a song or two (this will be dictated by my whim) and then I make everybody switch. You can come and speed date or just come and hang out. It’s free, fun, and I will totally be there, smelling great and probably dressed incredibly. Also, the Black Rabbit is the best bar in New York City, which is reason enough to come, and I’m not just saying that because they almost never charge me for drinks. Okay, see you Sunday I hope. Just show up by 8pm and stop running from happiness.

Love,
Dave Hill

Brooklyn Comedy Social
Posted on 8th February 2012

The other day I sat down for the inaugural meeting of the Brooklyn Comedy Social, something that is going to start happening seriously often, with my close personal friends Gabe Liedman and Janeane Garofalo. We chatted about Republicans, grease fires, and about 500 other things and also drank tea. You can and should watch the whole thing above and then subscribe to the channel too or I’ll stab you.

I Am Totally on “Would You Rather? with Graham Norton” on BBC America
Posted on 6th February 2012

Hi.  It’s me, Dave, again.  I’ve mentioned this on Twitter previously, but now that I have this new website and everything, I figured I’d mention it here- I am currently appearing on a new program called “Would You Rather? with Graham Norton” on the popular cable television channel BBC America, which is great for me.  The show is a British-style panel show with a cavalcade of stars (e.g. Alan Cumming, Stanley Tucci, Cyndi Lauper, Whoopi Goldberg, Judah Friedlander, Scott Adsit, and more) as well as several “cult figures” like myself.  I appear on four out of 13 episodes and I am the best at it.  The show is on Saturday night’s at 11pm usually, but go to BBC America’s website to find out the exact where and whens of it all.  Oh yeah, and there is a little preview clip of me on the show above that you and your loved ones should watch over and over again.

Thanks,

Dave Hill

A Nice Mention of My Podcast in the New York Times Magazine
Posted on 6th February 2012

Hi. Mondays- am I right? Anyway, I just wanted to shamelessly mention that in yesterday’s New York Times Magazine, there was a great article about comedy podcasts by Paul Brownfield. At the end of it, there is a “highly subjective, by no means definitive list of five (or so) comedy podcasts worth checking out” and my Dave Hill’s Podcasting Incident is totally one of them, clocking in at #5 along with the great and ridiculously attractive Julie Klausner.  I totally took a picture of the page it was on (page 45 if you’re playing along at home) and posted it above so you know I’m not just making this stuff up. Okay, great- that about covers it for now.

Your man,
Dave Hill
