You know, I had almost given up on being in Vogue magazine entirely and then it happened, dammit- Vogue magazine included me in an article called “5 Comedians Who Might Help You Stay Sane for the Next 4 Years”, which is to say that I am one of the five comedians they talk about. And while, sure, I was kind of hoping they would have had me all sexy-like in some fashion spread with a donkey or something, this is pretty cool too and I’ll take it. Thanks, Vogue. You can read the whole thing right here.

My buddy Jason Narducy has a great band called Split Single who have a new album out called Metal Frames that you should totally get if you like stuff that’s awesome. And you can watch the new video for the Split Single’s great new single “Untry Love,” which features me and the great Anya Marina as Jason’s bandmates who have pretty much had it with his bullshit. This video has everything, including my sweet Eddie Van Halen t-shirt. I hope you enjoy it so much. More info here if you like reading and such.
Love to all,
Dave Hill

Hi. It’s Dave. Happy New Year and stuff. I hope your holiday season was electric. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that my buddy Chris Reifert from such legendary metal bands as Autopsy, Death, and Abscess and I formed a rock band over the past year called Painted Doll and we are the best. We just finished recording our debut hot album, which will be out later this year in some form or another. I’m told the music is kind of like classic psych rock mixed with garage rock and whatever else but all I know is it was super fun to make and I love it. You can listen to a couple of our new hits below. And tell all the other kids too so we become big with the teens and such. Also, our buddy Wade Snook designed the logo above for us. So there. Here are the jams, bro.
Thanks!
Dave Hill

Recently I totally got to act in a new short by Ghost Cow Films for Funny or Die. It’s about conference calls and muting them and whatnot. Watch the whole thing above. It pretty much has everything.

Split Single, the rock machine driven by my friend Jason Narducy (Bob Mould Band, Superchunk, and 78 other bands), has a new album called Metal Frames out now and it’s excellent. You should totally get it if you like hot rock. As part of telling the band’s story and also how Jason has the sexiest elbows in rock and you can ask anyone, there is a new web series out and I am totally in the second episode. You can and should watch it above, over and over again. It’s the best basically. Michael Shannon is in it and everything.

Now UK listeners don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night and sit in the dark for three hours just to hear my incredible show- they can listen to it in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon’s from 1-4pm. I’m excited and grateful to be a part of the awesome Fubar lineup. You can get the full scoop right here.

This past September, during an invasion of Chicago during the midwestern jaunt of my electrifying book tour, I swung by the office’s of the Onion’s A.V. Club to play “Pick a Choice”, the game that is sweeping the nation, with A.C. Club mainman John Teti. It was scintillating and they gave me a free mousepad and other cool stuff when I left. You can watch the whole thing right here. It’s incredible.

Hi. It’s Dave again. I just wanted to let you know that in my spare time away from other stuff, I have been writing a few fairy tales for Audible’s new series Bedtime Stories for Cynics. So far, Lewis Black read a story I wrote called “Todd the Dragon Slayer” and Maria Bamford read the new version of “Goldilocks” I cooked up. The whole thing is presented by Nick Offerman and it’s pretty much good times all the time. I highly encourage you to check it out again and again. And then again. You can do that right here and here. I hope you enjoy them so much.
Love you,
Dave Hill

Hi. It’s Dave again reminding that if you live in London, Switzerland (four cities!), Berlin, Norway (two cities), you have just hit a street called Easy because tomorrow I get on a plane and begin a two-week stand up comedy assault on all those places. You can find all the dates and whatnot here. I really hope you can make it to a show or two or three. Afterwards, we can share a drink and talk about feelings and such.
Love,
Dave Hill

Episode three of my incredible new series Village Idiot, which I made with my buddy Tim Fornara and the fine folks at Above Average is here! This time around, I annoy the crap out of author Malcolm Gladwell as he tries to go about his day in the West Village. You can watch it above. I hope you enjoy it so much!
