Hi. It’s Dave. From before. Anyway, Witch Taint, the band my alter ego Lance the King of Black Metal plays guitar and sings in, has released its debut single and video for “Sons of Satan,” which you can totally watch above. It was directed by Paul Costello, features a mysterious cameo by a goatheaded guitar player who may or may not be Pepper Keenan from Corrosion of Conformity, and even has singing devil babies at one point, which is nuts. Watch it again and again and force everyone you know to do the same. Also, you can pre-order the debut album by Witch Taint Sons of Midwestern Darkness, out April 10 on Tee Pee Records, right here.

Last week I had the pleasure of making another appearance on Live from Here with Chris Thile along with Los Lobos, Maria Bamford, Sara Bareilles, Sarah Jarosz, and Isaac Powell of West Side Story at Town Hall, a classy joint. It was super fun and I had cookies and champagne and everything (together at last!). You can watch my performance above as many times as you want.

Hi. It’s Dave again. I was so busy running around Toronto promoting my new book Parking the Moose yesterday that I didn’t have a chance to post here about it. Life is nuts. Anyway, my new book Parking the Moose: One American’s Epic Quest to Uncover His Incredible Canadian Roots is finally here. It is my third book and if you buy it, I bet my publisher will let me write another one. Otherwise I will have to learn a trade or something. Anyway, I really think you’re gonna like this book. I am excited to announce that on October 3, there is going to be a super sick party in New York City to celebrate the release of my new book Parking the Moose, which is available for pre-order now and will officially available worldwide October 8 (though you can get it if you come to the party on October 3!). The party will be at McNally Jackson at South Street Seaport at 7pm and will feature me in conversation with Mike Sacks for a bit before I sign a few books and then things devolve into a full-on blowout with food and drinks and hopefully a donkey and a dunking machine and stuff. Well, it took some doing, but I talked my friend Todd Barry into letting me do his popular Todd Barry Podcast again. Hi. It’s Dave. From before. I hope this blog post finds you incredible. Anyway, in case you missed it, I was on the recent 15th anniversary episode of Portland’s excellent public radio program Live Wire, which is beamed out to radio and podcast listeners all over the world, dammit.
