Stream The Goddamn Dave Hill Show, March 11, 2014 Edition Featuring Lasagna!
Posted on 13th March 2014

If you missed this past Tuesday’s (March 11, 2014 for all you calendar buffs) Goddamn Dave Hill Show with guests including Cleveland comedian and Hispanic person Ramon Rivas and “The Adventures of Pete and Pete”‘s Danny Tamberelli and Mike Maronna, you can stream it here in the format of your choice or listen/subscribe on iTunes, the popular Internet thing. This was a fun show featuring a lasagna surprise, pork rinds courtesy of Reed Mullin from Corrosion of Conformity and Teenage Time Killer’s dad Mr. Mullin and a not-very-heated debate about whether dogs are better than cats or the other way around. I hope you enjoy it so much.

Still street,

New Valley Lodge Video for “Kiss Me, I’m Drunk”
Posted on 13th March 2014

)
Hi. If you like the Old West, horses, and Rich Fulcher from The Mighty Boosh, you are really going to like the new Valley Lodge video for our song “Kiss Me, I’m Drunk” because it has all that stuff and then even more cool stuff besides that. We shot the video this past December in Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado, which was gorgeous and nuts. The video was directed by Tim Fornara, who is English and talks crazy, and executive produced by the lovely Rebecca O’Malley. I hope you enjoy it so much.

Love,
Dave Hill

In accordance with the prophecy, I made a web series with the great Dick Cavett. It was directed, shot, and edited by Benjamin Ahr Harrison. You can watch the first batch (more to come!) here or get started by watching the above video. Also, for the record, we shot these at Tavern on Jane in the West Village. Try the wings.

Support the WFMU Pledge Drive or I Will Stab You
Posted on 24th February 2014

Hi. As mentioned previously on these pages, I was recently honored to become the host of my own show, the Goddamn Dave Hill Show, on WFMU radio in Jersey City, arguably the world’s foremost and most awesome in general freeform, independent radio station. From now until March 9th, the station is holding it’s annual pledge drive and I encourage you to donate until it hurts your pancreas or something. And lest you think this is one of my usual ploys for cocaine, laser treatments, and new track suits, please understand that WFMU is entirely listened supported and every radio show host on the station, myself included, works as a volunteer (which is to say for free- we even buy our own exfoliators), so your donation will go entirely toward keeping a great station- and a dying breed at that- on the air, functioning smoothly, and- perhaps most importantly in terms of my own selfish concerns- broadcasting the Goddamn Dave Hill Show each and every week. Just as an example, the station is currently broadcasting using a transmitter from 1948. With your help, maybe WMFU can get a “new” transmitter from 1953 or something. That is the dream anyway, do your part and pledge using the widget above or go here and dig deep today (NOTE: There are lots of prizes involved so you really can’t lose on this one).

Radio free New Jersey,
Dave Hill

Scorching-Hot New Version of “Super Bowl Shuffle”
Posted on 21st January 2014

Remember in 1985 when the Chicago Bears released the “Super Bowl Shuffle” song and everyone loved it. Well, recently I sang and played a sweet guitar solo on a new and improved version that also features My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Les Savy Fav’s Tim Harrington, internet cat Lil Bub, Tom Scharpling, comedians David Wain, Scott Aukerman, and Kyle Kinane, Man Man’s Honus Honus, the Long Winters’ John Roderick, and wrestler/podcaster Colt Cabana. The whole was put together by Sean Cannon to benefit reading is fundamental. You can listen above and get the full scoop as well as download your very own copy to listen to whenever and wherever you want right here. It is the greatest thing that has ever happened.

Thanks,
Dave Hill

Article About Me, Dave Hill, in the Wall Street Journal
Posted on 9th January 2014

The Wall Street Journal did a story about me this past Tuesday. I’d always kind of hoped if I got in the Wall Street Journal, it would be for a story about some crazy pyramid scheme I’d pulled off or something, but this story is mostly about my new radio show. I hope you enjoy it so much. My dad read it and says I can borrow the car next time I’m home. Sweet. You can read the whole thing right here.

Thanks,

The Goddamn Dave Hill Show Starts January 7 on WFMU
Posted on 27th December 2013

dj
As mentioned a few posts ago, I’m going to be doing a new radio show on WFMU starting on Tuesday, January 7 from 9pm-midnight. Given my penchant for low-grade profanity, I have decided to call this show the Goddamn Dave Hill Show. My guests on the first episode will be Jon Benjamin and Doug Gillard in-studio and then Philip H. Anselmo via telephone. I will also be playing a lot of hot rock songs and taking calls from listeners, which should be tons of fun unless they do that thing where they just yell “You suck! You suck! You suck!” really fast and hang up real quick like I used to do as a kid to local radio DJs in my spare time. I will also have a live donkey in-studio but it will be my intention to keep him quiet throughout the broadcast. No, I am kidding about the donkey. That was a joke. File under: More where that came from. Anyway, I hope you will tune via the actual radio or via the Internet or some other futuristic method that’s out there today.

Your man,
Dave Hill
