I’m in Rhett Miller’s Great New Music Video!
Posted on 25th June 2015

Recently, I had the pleasure of totally being in the new music video from my friend Rhett Miller for his great new single “Most in the Summertime”, which in turn is from his great new album The Traveler, which you can and should get right here. In the video, I play Rhett’s idiot friend who tries to cheer him up by taking him to a strip club. It was a real stretch for me but I’d like to think I really nailed it. I hope you enjoy it so much. And go see Rhett live- he can sing and play like a mofo and his hair looks even better than mine from most angles.

Thanks,
Dave Hill

Another Incredible Commercial for My New Album
Posted on 25th June 2015

If you like incredible Internet videos, you should probably watch the new/second commercial for my debut comedy album Let Me Turn You On, which, as mentioned previously, is out now on aspecialthing records, the popular record label. This commercial was put together by my buddy the great Phil Costello. If your computer explodes while watching it, I totally apologize. Also, my dog is in this video, which is just one more reason you should hit play. Oh, and if you want to get a copy of my album, you can get it here or on iTunes. I mean, hey, why not? Am I right or am I right? Or am I right?

I am right,
Dave Hill

Hi. It’s Dave again. Anyway, I just returned from a whirlwind trip to Los Angeles, Home of the Stars, where I ate so much Mexican food I almost needed butt surgery, appeared on the popular television program @midnight as well as a bunch of podcasts, including but not limited to the latest episodes of Sklarbro Country (featuring the hilarious Sklar Brothers, as hinted at in the name) and Never Not Funny (featuring the hilarious Jimmy Pardo and Matt Belknap). You can watch and listen to all of them by clicking on the links like crazy. Have fun! The future is now! Oh, and I’ll give you an update on the butt stuff when I’m ready.

Love unlimited,
Dave Hill

Did I Mention My Debut Comedy Album Came Out Last Week?
Posted on 17th June 2015

Hi. It’s me Dave again. From before. Anyway, as blogged, Facebooked, and tweeted about, my debut comedy album Let Me Turn You On is out now on aspecialthing records, the sweet record label. I encourage/beg/demand you to get your copy (if you haven’t already!) now on CD here, iTunes here, or on Amazon here. It’s got jokes, stories, guitar solos, pretty much everything. Also, hoping to really push things over the edge, I spent seven million dollars making a commercial for it above. I hope you enjoy it so much.

Stay hydrated,
Dave Hill

Stream the Most Recent Goddamn Dave Hill Show with Guests Damien Echols (West Memphis Three) and Lorri Davis, Plus Musical Guests Jounce!

I gotta get better about posting past episodes, dammmit. But if you missed the most recent episode of the Goddamn Dave Hill Show on WFMU, it was a scorcher and you should definitely check it out if you like incredible radio. My guests were Damien Echols (West Memphis Three) and his wife Lorri Davis, authors of the great book Yours for Eternity: A Love Story on Death Row, and musical guest Jounce featuring the handsome Danny Tamberelli. I also play hot jams, take phone calls, and be pretty sweet in general. You can listen to the whole thing right here. And if you want to jump into any other past episodes, you can find them in the WFMU archive here or stream them on your futuristic device with the WFMU app. The show is also on iTunes, so subscribe and comment there, too, if you get the itch. Okay, that about covers it! Thanks!

Stay street,

Last week, I was invited to make a record third appearance on the popular Let’s Drink About It podcast only this time they changed it up to be the Let’s Drink Milkshakes About It podcast, which is even better for me because I love milkshakes so much it’s weird. Whether you love milkshakes or just enjoy listening to other people talk about milkshakes, you can and should listen to the whole thing here. I hope you enjoy it so much.

Thanks,

My Debut Comedy Album “Let Me Turn You On” Is Available for Pre-Order Now! Can You Feel it?!
Posted on 18th May 2015

Hi. It’s Dave. From before. Anyway, I am very excited to announce that my debut comedy album Let Me Turn You On, out June 9 (coincidentally 6/9, which is really sexy) on aspecialthing records, is available for pre-order now, which is great for everybody. You can order the CD version here or the iTunes version here, priced to move at just ten bucks, about the price of four large coffees at one of those high-end coffee shops they got all over most towns these days. Anyway, if I do say so myself, it’s a hot album and you should totally get it. The awesome Danny Hellman did the artwork, which is worth price of admission alone. Hope you dig it!

Thanks,
Dave Hill

Nice Things That Are Nice
Posted on 18th May 2015

Hi. It’s Dave again. I probably should have posted these sooner, but what the heck, I am going to do it now anyway. As I might have mentioned, I recently did a bunch of shows in Norway, London, and Portland (a combined total of 16 shows, which must be some sort of record, at least for me anyway) and they were super fun and nobody threw anything at my head. The London shows were all sold out even. Anyway, here are some really nice reviews of one of my shows in Portland and another in London. I know it’s a bit pathetic of me to post lovely reviews of my shows here on my website, but isn’t that what the Internet is for (I mean besides all the naked chicks and cat videos and stuff)?

Love,

Support the WFMU Fundraising Marathon and Give Me a Reason to Keep Leaving the House on Monday Night’s in the Process
Posted on 9th March 2015

wfmu

As many of you know, I have my own radio show on WFMU, the greatest radio station of all-time, on Monday nights. Currently, WFMU is having its annual fundraising marathon and I strongly encourage you to contribute and help keep free-form, independent radio alive in the process. You will also keep the Goddamn Dave Hill Show on the air while you’re at it, which I really appreciate, you know, because that’s my show. My name is right there in the title.

If you’re “hip” to WFMU, you probably already know that- with the exception of a skeleton crew who keep the operation up and running- everyone else at the station, myself included, works entirely for free. None of the donation money goes to lavish parties, chimp rentals, or one of those pits with the plastic balls you see at amusement parks (which are awesome)- every dime goes to keep the station up and running and on the air 24/7. And in a world of corporate-sponsored garbage, WFMU remains one of the few bastions of true independence, creativity, and stuff that is pretty awesome in general left on earth. Who else would let me interview Dick Cavett on-air and then immediately follow that with an erotic short story I wrote in my spare time before playing back-to-back Cannibal Corpse and Francoise Hardy all while wearing nothing but hotpants and a little self-tanner?? That’s right- no one. And if you would like to see this sort of thing continue in this world, do your part and donate today. Did I mention there are prizes too (like this incredible Danny Hellman-designed Goddamn Dave Hill Show t-shirt, for example)? In short, it’s nuts not to donate. Do it. That would be so great.

I love you,

Dave Hill
