Stuff I Am Totally Into (This Week)
Posted on 1st July 2010

joan
Since I am a public figure and all, people are often asking me, Dave Hill, what I, Dave Hill, am “into.” So as to avoid having people stop me on the street to answer this question at a time when I may very well be on my way to surgery or somewhere else of great importance, I have decided to mention a few things I am into this week right here on my Internet website, now in it’s fourth or fifth exciting year. So here goes…um, okay, starting now!:

Okay, one thing I am totally into is the new Joan Rivers documentary, “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work.” It’s super funny and super interesting and walks the viewer (me, for example, when I went to see it the other night) through the incredible story of this asskicking comedian who is still kicking ass at the age of 77. Joan rules. Go see it or I’ll stab you. If you don’t enjoy it thorougly, you can kick me in the nuts next time you see me, even if we’ve never met.
slayer
Something else I am thorougly enjoying lately is the new Slayer pinball game iPhone and iPad application. It looks great, feels like a real pinball game, and you get to listen to Slayer the whole time you’re playing it. Everybody wins (or in my case loses since so far I’m not very good at it). I’ve never been much into video games of any sort, but I make an exception for this one big time. It’s better on iPad though, you know, cuz it’s bigger and stuff.
banksy
Another thing I am seriously into is the Banksy movie “Exit Through the Gift Shop.” It’s funny and it’s about art, two things I really enjoy because I am a dark and complex figure. The movie features the work of Banksy and Shepard Fairey, both of whom I really enjoy a whole bunch. And then there is sort of main character guy Mr. Brainwash, who seems made up but entertaining just the same. If he’s not made up, he’s a bad artist. If he is made up, he’s an awesome actor. Anyway, go see it and decide for yourself. I can’t sit here holding your hand through everything! Sheesh. Oh, and Banksy speaks with one of those pitchshifter things on his voice throughout the movie. This always makes everything better if you ask me.
pho
There was one other thing I was into but I can’t remember what it was. I think maybe it was pho, the popular Vietnamese soup, because that is what I am totally having for lunch today. I like Pho Sure on Christopher Street because it’s good and near my house where I live. I will keep you posted on this and other topics in the reasonably near future.

Okay, that about covers it for now. Time to wash up for surgery.

Love,
Dave Hill
